Our Newborn Family Portraits by The Freckled Key Photography
We’d like to introduce a recent addition to our family — Seda Joy Messarra! Seda (pronounced: Say-duh) is a Turkish name that means “forest voice”. Coincidently Silas’ name means “out of the forest” so their names have a connection in meaning. We pray that Seda Joy would speak joy into the lives of many!
Other than her water breaking before labor actually began, Seda’s birth fulfilled all of our wishes–she wasn’t born on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or on a wedding day… Alex was especially grateful to deliver her in a water birth at our home on December 26th at 4:09 pm.
Children are amazing gifts but it’s also obvious that sometimes children can be a handful. Before having each of our kids, we found ourselves bracing for the challenges that our new infant would bring. Fortunately for us, Silas has been a relatively “easy child” and, by that, I guess we mean that he often has a pleasant disposition and hasn’t yet had any major health concerns. So as we prepared for the birth of our daughter we wondered if perhaps she might bring more of a challenge for us?
While we are only a couple weeks into being a family of 4 and there are surely many challenging times ahead, so far we have been pleasantly surprised with how smooth the transition has been welcoming baby Seda into our family. Like most newborns, she sleeps A LOT, and is slowly starting to aggregate that sleep during the nighttime hours. She has taken to breastfeeding like a champ–much credit to Alex. And Silas seems to really care about Seda, often wanting to give her hugs and kisses. We’re shocked and grateful at how great things have been so far!
We’re so glad we invited our talented photographer friend Hannah Key from The Freckled Key Photography to capture a newborn portrait session of our family of four. If you (or anyone you know) happens to be looking for an authentic and relaxed newborn or family portrait session, we couldn’t recommend anyone more highly than Hannah from The Freckled Key Photography!
